She was married to Frances Charles Freund who died in 1971, and was also preceded in death by a daughter, Margaret Steiner, who died January 19, 1995, and sons John who died in November, 1969, and Frank who died March 20, 2000. She was a former resident of Woodbury Heights, NJ, and Ocean City, NJ, and lived in Absecon, NJ from 1950 until moving to Asheville in 1981.She is survived by a daughter, Janet Irelan of Asheville, with whom Mrs. Freund made her home, and a son James Freund and his wife Diane. She is also survived by nineteen grandchildren, forty-five great-grandchildren, four great-great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews, including Lilly Martin of Cinnamenson, NJ.Funeral services will be 11:00 am Friday in the Patton Avenue chapel of Groce Funeral Home. Interment will be at Absecon Presbyterian Cemetery, Absecon, NJ.Her family will receive friends from 10 - 11:00 am Friday at Groce Funeral Home on Patton Avenue. At other times her family will be at the residence of Janet Irelan, 60 Selwyn Road, Asheville, or a granddaughter, Jody Reagan, 74 Sunup Lane, Candler.Memorials may be made to Eliada Home, PO Box 16708, Asheville, NC 28816, or to Mountain Area Hospice, PO Box 16, Asheville, NC 28802.
